Renowned social media star Elena Jessica has tragically passed away following a botched second attempt at a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) surgery. She was a well-known figure, and her death has left her friends, family, and fans in deep mourning.
A heartbreaking video showing Elena in the hospital began to circulate online, prompting many viewers to express their shock and sadness. The video vividly depicted her difficult condition, making it hard for many to watch.
Elena’s sister shared painful details about her decline after the surgery.
According to her, Elena underwent liposuction and a fat transfer on February 6 at Cynosure Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in Ikoyi, Lagos.
Just two days post-surgery, she started feeling intense pain in the areas where the procedures were performed.
Medical tests revealed that her white blood cell count was alarmingly high, while her blood levels were dangerously low, leading to the need for five blood transfusions.
Despite receiving antibiotics, Elena’s condition did not improve.
Doctors suggested another surgery to remove excess fat, but she remained in critical condition.
Elena was advised to go to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) for better care; however, she couldn’t secure a bed there, forcing her to endure five hours of pain in an ambulance.
Unable to find adequate treatment, she was eventually taken to Emel Hospital in Festac, where the cost for one day in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was N1.5 million.
Later, she was moved to another facility where a surgeon quoted a staggering N6 million for surgery to remove infected fat.
Her family struggled to pay for her care, selling some of Elena’s belongings to gather the necessary funds, as they faced financial strain due to her father being retired.
Eventually, the hospital demanded an additional N4.5 million for continued treatment, but her family could not manage to raise the money. Tragically, Elena passed away.
