The family of a close friend of Johanna Ng’eno has clarified why the deceased man’s lastborn child did not attend his father’s funeral. Questions arose after mourners noticed the child’s absence during the burial ceremony, which was attended by many relatives, friends and local leaders.

According to the family, the lastborn child was unable to attend the funeral due to unavoidable personal circumstances that occurred shortly before the burial. Relatives emphasized that the absence was not caused by family disagreements or disrespect toward the deceased, as some people had speculated.

A family spokesperson explained that the lastborn shared a close relationship with his late father and was deeply affected by his death. He loved his father very much and wished to attend the funeral, the relative said. “However, unexpected circumstances prevented him from traveling in time for the burial.

The family also noted that although the child was not physically present, he paid tribute privately and remained in contact with relatives throughout the mourning period. They explained that people grieve differently, and sometimes circumstances make it impossible for everyone to attend a funeral in person.

Friends of the deceased, including those who knew him through Johanna Ng’eno, urged members of the public to avoid spreading rumors about the situation. They encouraged people to focus instead on honoring the life and legacy of the departed.

Community elders also called for understanding and compassion, reminding mourners that funerals are emotional moments for families. They advised the public to respect the family’s explanation and allow them space to grieve.

The family concluded by expressing gratitude to everyone who attended the funeral and offered support during their time of loss. They said the kindness and solidarity shown by friends, neighbors, and relatives had helped them find comfort as they mourned their loved one.
