A Nairobi mother of four has opened up about the painful moment her marriage collapsed after she caught her husband cheating in their own home.
Leah Wambui said she returned home by surprise one day after hearing rumours about her husband and was shocked to find him in bed with a college girl before being sent away.Wambui told TUKO.co.ke that she married her former boss at the age of 21 after a year of dating.
At the time, she believed their love would last.
The couple later had four children and ran a salon and beauty college together in Nairobi.
Trouble began soon after she gave birth to their first child.
She said her husband became unfaithful and emotionally abusive.
Wambui said she started noticing warning signs and things that did not feel right, adding that while she was pregnant, she ran away from their home twice because of frequent fights.She explained that her husband openly cheated with college students from their beauty school.
On one occasion, she returned home unexpectedly and found him in bed with a college girl after hearing rumours about their relationship.
She said she was sent away instead of being listened to.
Later, her husband moved abroad for work in 2017, leaving her to raise the children and manage the business alone.
Although he supported the family financially, Wambui said he installed CCTV cameras around the house to monitor her movements.
She explained that the house had three CCTV cameras placed at the entrance, in the sitting room, and along the hallway.
She said her husband claimed the cameras were meant to monitor the children, but she believed he was watching her through his phone.
Wambui now lives separately and says she is focused on healing and raising her children after years of pain and control.
