Tragedy struck a family in Nairobi after a woman died from injuries sustained during a brutal attack by her husband in their Embakasi home.
Teresa Kemunto Wambui passed away days after being assaulted by her 27-year-old partner, Oscar Oundo, following suspicions that she was having an affair.
Reports state that the altercation began when Oundo went through Kemunto’s WhatsApp messages and accused her of infidelity. In anger, he allegedly hit her with a blunt instrument, leaving her severely injured. Despite the trauma, she initially reported the incident at Soweto Police Station.
As her condition worsened, Kemunto contacted her brother, who confronted Oundo and insisted she be taken to a medical facility. She was admitted to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital but unfortunately died two days later.
Oundo has been taken into custody at Soweto Police Station while investigations continue. The family is appealing to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), human rights groups, and government agencies to ensure that justice is served for Teresa Kemunto Wambui.
