The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has issued a formal notice to its members ahead of a series of upcoming by-elections announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

In a statement released on Tuesday, ODM called on its members in specific constituencies and wards to verify their membership details in preparation for participation in the party’s nomination processes and subsequent electoral activities.

The affected constituencies where the by-elections are scheduled include Baringo, Banissa, Kasipul, Magarini, Malava, Mbeere North, and Ugunja. Additionally, a wide range of wards across various counties are also set to hold by-elections.

ODM emphasized the importance of accurate membership records, noting that only verified members will be eligible to take part in party primaries and any related political activities.

The party urged members to visit designated verification centers or use available digital platforms to confirm their registration status.

“The exercise is crucial to ensure transparency and credibility in our internal democratic processes,” the statement read in part. ODM also warned against last-minute rushes and encouraged timely action from all concerned members.

The by-elections are expected to fill vacancies created by various factors, including resignations, deaths, and nullified election results.

This move signals ODM’s preparation to strengthen its grassroots support and maintain or expand its political influence across the country, particularly in light of the 2027 General Elections.

Further details on timelines and nomination procedures are expected to be communicated in the coming days.

Members and aspirants are advised to stay alert for official updates from the party headquarters.
