There was a dramatic scene at Pastor James Ng’ang’a’s church on Sunday after a heated exchange between the pastor’s church commander and two female congregants turned physical. What was meant to be a peaceful prayer service ended in chaos and shouting, shocking many worshippers.

The incident took place during a night prayer session at the Neno Evangelism Centre. According to eyewitnesses, the two women were found dozing off in the middle of the session. This angered the church commander, who is known for his strictness in enforcing discipline during services.

The commander, tasked with maintaining order in the church, reportedly approached the women and tried to wake them up. Instead of responding quietly, the women allegedly argued back, saying they were tired and had not slept well the night before. A heated exchange followed, with voices rising and tempers flaring.

Within moments, the confrontation escalated into a physical fight. The commander is said to have slapped one of the women, leading to a push and pull situation. Chairs were heard falling as the three struggled inside the church.

Other congregants quickly intervened to separate the individuals. The service was temporarily stopped as Pastor Ng’ang’a stood in disbelief, watching the commotion unfold in his sanctuary. He later addressed the incident, warning his members against turning God’s house into a battlefield.

“This is not a place for fighting,” Pastor Ng’ang’a said. “If you are tired, stay at home. Don’t come here to sleep and bring shame in the name of worship.”

The two women were later escorted out of the church compound, and the commander was also asked to step aside for investigation. Some church members expressed disappointment, saying such acts damage the image of the church.

Police were not involved, and no injuries were reported. However, the church leadership promised to review how discipline is handled to avoid such embarrassing scenes in the future.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending the commander and others blaming him for using force inside a place of worship.
