Celebrated Kenyan journalist Victoria Rubadiri has opened up about her life, and revealed that she was among the people who were affected today by the roadblocks that had been mounted in Nairobi by the police officers, ahead of the Saba Saba demos.
According to the award-winning journalist, she had a difficult time accessing her office in the morning, after a female police officer blocked her from passing through a road that would lead her to it.
In this case, Victoria Rubadiri was blocked from accessing the Waiyaki Way, and this is despite the fact that she had even showed her the identification documents, to confirm that she was indeed a journalist.
The sassy queen, who normally hosts the series dubbed Connecting Africa at CNN, opened up about this in a video that she shared on her Instagram stories, that she had presumably recorded while in a car.
This video captured how Victoria Rubadiri also engaged in an altercation with this female police officer, because she wanted to access the Waiyaki Way – which was the shortest distance to her work place.
Even though the female police officer said no to the CNN journalist, the latter pleaded her case and her persistence thankfully paid off, because she was finally allowed to do so.
“Heading to the office to prep for Saba Saba protests and even after I identified myself and presented my press card, a cop stood in front of my vehicle, denying me access down Waiyaki Way. Eventually got through after pleading my case…” she said in part.
