Re Samidoh

Popular Mugithi star and police officer Samidoh Muchoki has returned to Kenya and dismissed swirling rumours that he had fled the country to evade an arrest warrant or resign from the police service. Speaking candidly after his arrival, the artist firmly refuted claims of being a fugitive, maintaining that he remains a law-abiding citizen with nothing to hide.

In a casual interview with content creator Kururuia, Samidoh clarified that his return was prompted by a personal emergency, not legal troubles. “I had a small emergency and decided to make a quick run back here to Kenya. I’m a law-abiding citizen. Hakuna mtu nimekosea,” he said, adding, “This is home and I cannot run away from that.”

Online speculation had intensified after reports claimed the singer, who doubles as a police officer, had deserted his duties and was facing an arrest warrant. But Samidoh, known for hits like Toxic Love, rejected these claims, saying he has no intention of resigning. “I am still working, and if given the chance, I will continue. I have never thought about resigning. People are putting words in my mouth,” he clarified.

Recalling his early days in the force, he joked about the intense training he endured and affirmed his commitment to serve, as long as he is allowed. “Running in the heat for over 10 kilometres when joining the force is not something you take lightly.”

Unshaken by the controversy, Samidoh said he refuses to be intimidated. “We cannot run away from our country—who will we leave it to? I am not shaken,” he declared.

He also appeared to indirectly reference recent national unrest, including the police shooting of protester Boniface Kariuki, with a subtle social media post that touched on justice and freedom—words fans interpreted as a quiet stand against brutality.

With hundreds rallying behind him online, Samidoh’s return has reignited conversations not just about his music, but his deeper role in Kenya’s public life.
