Manyra

Political analyst Herman Manyora has warned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and the wider opposition that defeating President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election will require serious preparation, organisation and a strong political strategy.

Manyora argued that the opposition cannot simply emerge shortly before the election and expect to overcome an incumbent president without building the necessary structures and political machinery.

Manyora had earlier identified Gachagua and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna as the two politicians he believes have the political toughness needed to mount a serious challenge against Ruto.

According to the analyst, the opposition must understand the nature of the political battle ahead and prepare adequately instead of relying only on rallies and public excitement.

Manyora maintained that Gachagua and Sifuna have demonstrated the kind of political firmness that could be important in a closely contested election.

He argued that the two leaders would be unwilling to allow their votes to be compromised or accept political arrangements after an election if they believed they had secured victory.
