Court affidavits filed by Investigator Sergeant Rhoda Nzioka have revealed that the main suspect, Beatrice Wangari, allowed the late Dr. Job Obwaka to rest in her master bedroom shortly before the medic tragically died.
According to the affidavit, Dr. Obwaka spent most of the afternoon of Friday, May 1, at Wangari’s residence in Milimani, Kitengela, Nairobi County.
The court documents further state that Wangari prepared a meal of rice and meat for the veteran doctor, which he ate before later requesting permission to rest in her master bedroom. Wangari reportedly agreed to the request.
While Dr. Obwaka was resting, Wangari allegedly joined him in the bedroom and the two became intimate.
Sergeant Rhoda Nzioka’s affidavit, however, does not give a detailed account of what followed, only indicating that shortly after the encounter, Dr. Obwaka suddenly became unwell and informed Wangari that something was wrong.
Wangari is then said to have alerted her neighbour, identified as Shadrack Korir, informing him that her companion was in distress.
Korir reportedly found Dr. Obwaka lying on Wangari’s bed dressed in a white vest and black trousers. He quickly contacted WOBS Emergency Care ambulance services, which rushed the doctor to Nairobi Hospital. By the time Korir arrived to assist, Dr. Obwaka was reportedly unresponsive with his eyes fully closed.
Medical personnel later confirmed that Dr. Obwaka had died shortly after Wangari and Korir arrived at the hospital.
