EALA MP Winnie Odinga has joined her mother, Mama Ida Odinga, and other family members at Migwena Grounds in Bondo, Siaya County, to commemorate the first anniversary of her father, Raila Odinga’s death.
Winnie arrived at the venue alongside Mama Ida and her sister Rosemary Odinga as family members, political leaders and supporters gathered to honour the life and legacy of the former prime minister.
The family’s appearance drew attention, with the three women stepping out in carefully coordinated outfits for the solemn occasion.
Mama Ida and Rosemary wore matching white outfits, presenting a coordinated look as they joined other mourners at the gathering.
Winnie, meanwhile, opted for an elegant green outfit complemented by a stylish hat.
Their arrival was part of a larger set of events commemorating one year since Raila’s passing on October 15, 2025, while he was undergoing medical treatment in India.
This anniversary has united Kenyans from all walks of life to honor the veteran politician’s significant impact on the nation’s political landscape and his lengthy commitment to the fight for democratic reforms.
Known affectionately as Baba by his supporters, Raila was a pivotal figure in Kenyan politics for decades, advocating for multiparty democracy, constitutional reforms, and greater public involvement in governance.
For Winnie and her family, this occasion holds special significance as they join countless supporters in remembering a father, husband, and leader whose reach went well beyond his immediate family ties.
The gathering at Migwena Grounds has offered a space for attendees to reminisce, pay their respects, and contemplate the legacy left by the late politician.
