O and Willy

Kenyan singer Willy Paul has reignited the heated debate surrounding Diamond Platnumz’s absence from the Furaha City Festival after publicly challenging Wasafi manager Sallam SK over his account of the night’s events.

The latest exchange follows remarks by Sallam, who claimed the concert’s troubles began when Willy Paul allegedly overstayed his allocated performance time, disrupting the schedule for Wasafi artistes.

According to the manager, Zuchu was expected to take the stage after Willy Paul, but the Kenyan singer allegedly continued performing beyond the agreed 10 minutes. Sallam claimed the situation created tension and affected Diamond’s planned appearance at the Nairobi Polo Club Grounds event.

Sallam said he chose to handle the disagreement calmly and allowed Zuchu to perform before the matter was later resolved. He also maintained that Diamond eventually failed to appear on stage after the disagreement.

Diamond’s absence left thousands of fans disappointed, with the Tanzanian superstar expected to headline the highly publicised concert.

Event organisers initially blamed a minor security incident involving another artiste, while also criticising Diamond’s team for allegedly making excessive demands. Diamond, however, gave a different account, claiming he had waited for more than three hours without being called to perform before his manager took him back to the hotel.

With Sallam’s latest comments reopening the controversy, Willy Paul has now responded in a carefully worded message shared online.

While expressing respect for Sallam’s contribution to the music industry, the Kenyan singer urged him to uphold integrity and stand by what is true.

The renewed war of words has once again placed the Furaha City Festival controversy in the spotlight, leaving fans divided over who was responsible for the concert’s dramatic collapse.
