Preliminary reports indicate the bus driver lost control at the bridge before veering off the road, leaving the bus clinging to the bridge.
An emergency rescue team from the Machakos County Government arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident and rescued the victims.
Reports from Mbaitu FM, a Kamba radio station, revealed that eleven family members sustained serious injuries during the accident and have been rushed to Machakos County Referral Hospital to seek treatment.
Police officers have arrived, recorded the scene, and towed the school bus to Mwala Police Station as investigations start.
Reports indicate the school bus had been hired by the family to attend a wedding ceremony of their relative in Machakos County.
