The best way to end disrespect is by not giving the person a chance to do it again. Granted, someone can make you feel disrespected unintentionally and by mistake.
When they unconsciously do things that violate you. But then in that case they will show sincere remorse and do whatever they can to make it up for you.
The disrespect you’re never to allow a repeat of is when a person knowingly does things that cross the lines and offend you, without caring what their actions do to you.
Respect is the bedrock on which any decent relationship sits, just like a house sits on the foundation. So when you don’t have a foundation you cannot have a house, and nobody should tell you ‘We can talk about it.
Fight for your relationship. Be accommodating.’ Respect is simply not negotiable because it’s the only security on which you can entrust a person with your feelings and your life.
You must never become so understanding that you put up with it.
