Joyce Wanjiru Karumba spent her last years quietly battling a disease few could truly grasp.

She was married to DJ Krowbar, also known as Karumba Ngatia, and her life changed in April 2022 when she was diagnosed with a bad kidney problem.

From then on, Joyce’s life was filled with hospital trips, treatment, and unsureness. Friends say she was calm and full of hope, even as she got sicker.

She depended on her beliefs, her family, and her husband, who was always there for her.

Because she was getting worse, doctors suggested a kidney transplant. In a selfless act, Joyce’s sister offered to donate a kidney.

The transplant brought hope. For 215 days, Joyce lived with her sister’s kidney, a time of hope and thankfulness.

During those months, she tried to live as usual. She spent time with family, had quiet times with her husband, and prayed for strength.

Those close to her say she was thankful for each day she had, even when problems came up.

Sadly, her body started to reject the transplant. Even with treatment, Joyce’s health kept failing.

In her last days, her family was with her, comforting her as she got ready for what was coming. Her death ended a long, hard time that tested everyone who loved her.

Joyce Wanjiru Karumba’s story shows courage, sacrifice, and love. It shows how hard chronic disease can be emotionally and how strong family bonds are.

As DJ Krowbar grieves, people remember Joyce not just for her death, but for how bravely she lived with pain, hope, and faith until the end.
