Makueni Senator Dan Maanzo has strongly criticised President William Ruto, accusing his government of allowing corruption to continue.

Speaking on Citizen TV’s DayBreak show, Maanzo questioned why people facing corruption allegations are being given top government jobs. He said this sends a bad message to Kenyans and shows that the fight against corruption is not being taken seriously.

“What is the President telling the country by appointing someone who should be prosecuted for corruption?” Maanzo asked.

The senator also talked about the impeachment attempts against former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. He claimed that there were reports of Ksh10 million being given to senators to influence the process.

Maanzo questioned whether the money was a bribe from the Executive to push political interests. He said if this is true, then it shows there is serious corruption within the government.

He went further to claim that some of the most corrupt individuals have been appointed to the Cabinet. According to him, this proves that corruption is still a big problem in the current administration.

Maanzo warned that such actions could destroy public trust in the government. He said leaders must act with honesty and be accountable to the people.

His remarks are likely to increase political tension in the country, as leaders continue to argue over corruption and governance.

However, the government has denied these claims in the past, saying all appointments are done legally and that it remains committed to fighting corruption.

The debate now continues as Kenyans watch closely and expect transparency from their leaders.
