Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, now the leader of the Democracy For Citizens Party (DCP), has spoken out following Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s impressive mobilisation in Magarini, where the United Opposition is rallying behind DCP candidate Stanley Karisa Kenga ahead of the November 27, 2025 by-election.

Gachagua praised Kalonzo for attracting what he termed a “commanding and organic crowd,” saying the energy in Magarini reflects a growing national appetite for change.

He reaffirmed that the opposition team is working tirelessly, engaging communities, and ensuring every voter understands the urgency of choosing transformative leadership.

Gachagua described Stanley Kenga as a leader grounded in justice, accountability, and a vision for a stronger and more inclusive Magarini.

He said the DCP flag bearer stands as the most credible candidate to drive development and defend the interests of ordinary citizens.

The former DP also extended appreciation to key United Opposition figures — Eugene Wamalwa, Senator Cleophas Malala, Senator Kamau Murango, nominated Senator Shakilla Abdalla, Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina, and Hon. David Mathenge — for spearheading what he called an “unstoppable charm offensive” in support of the DCP candidate.

Gachagua further urged Kenyans to reject corruption and elitist politics, declaring: “Dear Kenya, we must drain the swamp.”

According to him, the by-election represents more than just a constituency race — it is a test of whether the public will continue tolerating what he describes as failed leadership.

He ended with a bold proclamation that has increasingly become a national slogan: WANTAM — ‘Ruto will lose the 2027 elections’.

Gachagua insisted the political wave sweeping across the country proves that the administration’s one-term fate is “inevitable.”

With excitement intensifying on the ground, the Magarini contest is shaping into a symbol of the United Opposition’s growing momentum.
