The family of former cabinet minister Burudi Nabwera has been plunged into mourning following the death of his son, Nyongesa Nabwera.

The tragic news of Nyongesa’s death has been shared by his brother, who is also the Lugari MP, Nabii Nabwera.

In a Facebook post, MP Nabii Nabwera euologised his brother as a caring person who protected him during their time in high school.

Nyongesa was a retired military officer and MP Nabwera’s elder brother. His death comes just weeks since the passing on of the constituency’s former MPs; Cyrus Jirongo and Dr Enoch Kibunguchy.

Nyongesa’s father, the 98-year old former Lugari MP and cabinet minister during the former President Daniel Arap Moi’s reign is best remembered for being Kenya’s first ambassador to the United States of America and laid foundation to Kenya’s diplomatic relations with Washington DC.

He would later transition into the murky world of politics when he won the Lugari MP seat before being voted out in 1992.
