Peter Salasya has shared more information about the attack on his vehicle earlier this week. He released a video clip showing the moment cars believed to be used by the attackers sped past his convoy.
According to Salasya, the attackers moved ahead of his convoy, cutting off his vehicle while his security and sound car were trailing behind.
He said the people in the vehicles claimed to be officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). They hijacked the cars in front and used them to block his path.
Salasya described the incident as a well-planned ambush. His vehicle was shot at, especially the wheels, and his security team was disarmed.
In the video, he questioned who sent the attackers and why they chose to strike at this moment. He also called on Kenyans to stand for truth and justice.
Later, Salasya released a written statement explaining the terrifying moments that followed the attack.
He said the attackers, heavily armed, disarmed his security and chased his vehicle. One of his guards managed to escape and helped him flee into a nearby bush.
Salasya said the attackers were carrying around 15 AK47 rifles and gave him a frightening message, which he chose not to reveal for safety reasons.
He also said he has never attacked the government in his public speeches and remains focused on peace and progress.
He ended his message by saying he is being taken to an unknown place and called on authorities and the public to pay attention to his situation. Salasya insisted he will not be silenced.
