Pastor Victor Kanyari has spoken about reports that he is no longer paying school fees for his children, explaining his position during a recent live broadcast.

The preacher addressed the issue after the matter attracted attention on social media. Some Kenyans had questioned why he was allegedly no longer meeting part of his children’s education expenses.

Speaking during the live session, Kanyari confirmed that he had stopped paying school fees. He appeared emotional while discussing the situation and explained that comments and discussions online had affected how he chose to handle his family matters.

Kanyari said he had previously been advised by people online to avoid discussing private family issues publicly. He said he followed that advice and decided to remain quiet about matters involving his children.

The issue has also drawn attention because of his past relationship with gospel singer Betty Bayo, with whom he shares children. The former couple’s parenting arrangements have occasionally become a subject of public discussion.

Kanyari stressed that stopping the payments should not be interpreted as a lack of love for his children. He said he still cares about them and wants them to do well in their education and future lives.

He also described co-parenting as difficult, suggesting that disagreements between parents are sometimes better resolved privately instead of being discussed on social media.

The remarks have sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans. Some have encouraged the two parents to settle their differences and ensure the children’s education remains a priority. Others believe family matters should stay away from public platforms.

Betty Bayo has not publicly responded to Kanyari’s latest comments. It is also unclear whether his decision will remain permanent or change after further discussions.

The situation has renewed debate about co-parenting, privacy and the effect of social media on family disputes involving public figures.
