Veteran Inooro TV journalist and popular Kiririmbi host Waweru Nyambura has announced his departure from Royal Media Services after serving at the media house for 10 years, six months and 28 days.

In a heartfelt statement shared on his Facebook page on Sunday, June 21, Nyambura reflected on his journey, describing his time at East Africa’s leading media outlet by market share as an opportunity that transformed both his career and personal life.

The journalist revealed that he joined the company as a trainee reporter before steadily rising through the ranks to become a News Producer, eventually leading what he described as the most expensive airtime on Kenyan airwaves.

Nyambura said Royal Media Services opened doors he had never imagined, allowing him to travel to places he once only dreamed of visiting, meet influential people and win multiple national and continental awards during his career.

He also expressed gratitude to the media house for giving him the chance to do what he loved most, saying the organisation shaped, moulded and supported him throughout his professional journey.

The veteran broadcaster paid special tribute to children, describing them as his most loyal audience. He noted that many parents had often told him they appreciated his work, but it was their children who truly loved his storytelling.

Nyambura thanked his supporters for standing by him throughout his career, saying they continued to appreciate his style of storytelling even when it was not perfect and forgave him whenever he made mistakes.

“In all things, God has been good to me. God has blessed me. God has been kind to me,” he wrote while announcing that he was embracing a new challenge.

His announcement came shortly after hosting his final guest on Kiririmbi, Nyandarua Senator John Methu, marking the end of his long stint at Royal Media Services.
