Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, his wife Margaret Kenyatta and his mother, Mama Ngina Kenyatta, drew considerable attention after making a rare joint appearance at a wedding ceremony.
The three members of the prominent Kenyatta family were captured attending the private celebration in a video that was later shared on TikTok, offering the public an unusual glimpse of them away from political activities and formal engagements.
The footage showed guests gathered inside the wedding venue before the celebrations later moved outdoors. The reception area had been carefully arranged, featuring white drapes, flowers and neatly organised tables that created an elegant setting for the occasion.
Uhuru appeared to be in a relaxed mood as he joined other guests on the dance floor. The former president was seen dancing to the music and enjoying the celebrations, providing a more informal glimpse of his personality outside his former official role.
Margaret was also present at the ceremony, while Mama Ngina joined other invited guests at the celebration. Their presence together quickly generated interest among social media users, many of whom reacted to the rare appearance of the three family members in the same setting.
Uhuru has generally maintained a relatively low public profile since leaving office in 2022 after completing his two constitutional terms as Kenya’s president. He served as the country’s fourth president between 2013 and 2022.
Mama Ngina, the widow of Kenya’s first president, Jomo Kenyatta, has likewise made fewer public appearances in recent years, particularly at private social functions that are recorded and widely circulated online. Her presence alongside Uhuru and Margaret consequently attracted additional attention.
The family appeared to have attended the wedding as ordinary guests, with no indication that the occasion was connected to any political activity or official assignment.
