Today, two schools have been destroyed by fire in separate incidents, raising concerns over safety and discipline in learning institutions. At Tulwet Boys High School, students are reported to have deliberately set a dormitory on fire following unrest within the school. The blaze spread quickly, reducing property of unknown value to ashes before it was eventually contained. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though investigations are underway to determine the root cause of the unrest.

In a separate incident, Tharaka University was hit by an accidental fire that broke out in the morning hours. Several buildings, including the administration block, were gutted down completely, disrupting key operations. Firefighters, supported by local residents, worked tirelessly to stop the flames from spreading to other learning facilities within the university compound.

Authorities have since launched investigations into both incidents. The Ministry of Education has called for calm as assessments of the damage continue, assuring students and staff that efforts will be made to restore learning activities as soon as possible.
