The community of Cheptais Ward in Mt. Elgon constituency and the wider Kenyan education sector are in mourning following the passing of Mr. Henry Chesori.
According to family sources, Mr. Chesori succumbed to illness after a prolonged battle.
Mr. Chesori was a seasoned English teacher and a notable school administrator. He served as the Senior Principal at Cheptais High School before being transferred to St. Joseph’s Boys High School in Kitale, where he led from 2010 to 2011 until his retirement.
The late Chesori is known for shaping the lives of many students who have since gone on to become successful professionals.
Following news of his passing, tributes poured in across social media platforms. Former colleagues, students, and friends remembered him fondly as a cheerful, approachable, and hardworking individual.
Those who had the privilege of working with Mr. Chesori described him as a committed educator who believed in the power of discipline, compassion, and excellence.
Chesori’s death comes just months after the loss of his beloved wife, Dinah Chesori, who was laid to rest in January 2025. The double tragedy has left the family and community heartbroken.
