Protest and police

A senior detective in Kikuyu, Omondi Ogolla, has been reassigned from his post shortly after failing to disrupt a rally associated with Rigathi Gachagua.

This decision has ignited allegations of political meddling within the police force.

According to sources, Ogolla’s reassignment came after his management of security in preparation for a Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) rally in Kikuyu.

He had allegedly convened with party officials at the police station to strategize on ensuring the event would unfold without incident.

A senior officer, who requested to remain unnamed, supported the meeting but indicated that it was later misinterpreted within the command hierarchy.

However, his bosses were not happy with him and how he enabled the opposition to run the rally smoothly.

His colleagues who requested to be anonymous revealed that theirs bosses did not want Gachagua’s rally to ring smoothly.

The event has since raised new concerns regarding the management of security.
