Odinga Raila

ODM leader Raila Odinga has firmly rejected recent calls from a section of politicians urging him to abandon his current stance and rejoin opposition.

Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, the seasoned politician made it clear that his loyalty lies with the government, citing the need for national unity and long-term stability.

Raila dismissed the invitations as opportunistic, questioning the motives of those trying to lure him into their camp.

The former Prime Minister emphasized that Kenya has faced numerous challenges in the past and that any attempt to backtrack politically could undo the progress the country has made.

He urged leaders across the political divide to come together in pursuit of national interest, cautioning against political games that could fracture the country’s stability.

While acknowledging the existence of serious issues such as electoral integrity and governance challenges, Raila remained optimistic that these would be addressed through dialogue and cooperation.

His statement comes in response to recent calls by leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, urging him to return to opposition politics.
