After the end of Raila Odinga’s strategic campaign visit in Kakamega county to drum support for ODM gubernatorial candidate Fernandez Barasa who is facing stiff competition from Cleophas Malala of ANC, Oparanya has warned the Kenya Kwanza team to brace for a humbling defeat by the close of voting on Monday.
Oparanya maintained that delaying gubernatorial elections in the counties of Kakamega and Mombasa was a we planned scheme orchestrated by Raila’s rivals intended to clip his chances of winning the presidential race.
Despite the unforeseen challenge, Oparanya has exuded confidence in Fernandez Barasa saying that the Monday mini elections is for him to lose.
“Delaying Kakamega and Mombasa gubernatorial elections was a scheme to deny Baba victory. Our detractors will be ashamed with our win on Monday.” Oparanya said.
In the rallies held at Emulole in Khwisero, Koyonzo to in Matungu, Maturu in Lugari before finalising the vote hunt mission with a rally in Kakamega-Town, dozens of Azimio legislators led by ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, Felix Odiwour, George Aladwa, Busia governor Paul Otuoma, Tindi Mwale among many others joined Mr. Odinga in supporting Barasa.
Oparanya further banked on Raila’s goodwill saying that residents will hopefully adhere to his call
“I am confident that Kakamega people will heed Baba’s word and rally behind Team Barasa as we go to polls this Monday.” He stated.
