Soy Member of Parliament David Kiplagat has come out with a chilling revelation, claiming that his life is under serious threat. The vocal legislator says he has been receiving anonymous warning notes aimed at intimidating him.

According to Kiplagat, the threats have been delivered in the form of handwritten papers, commonly slipped into his car or handed to people close to him. He believes the warnings are part of a calculated move to silence him politically.

The MP did not name any specific suspects but hinted that his strong political positions may have angered certain powerful individuals. He stated that the content of the notes suggests someone is watching his every move.

“These are not just random threats. Someone is tracking me and wants me to keep quiet. They want to instill fear,” said Kiplagat during a press briefing in Uasin Gishu County. He added that some of the messages clearly stated he would “face consequences” if he did not “change his ways.”

Kiplagat has called on the police and national security agencies to take the matter seriously and launch thorough investigations. He emphasized that no leader should be subjected to threats simply for exercising their constitutional mandate.

The MP further revealed that he has already shared the notes with local authorities and is seeking increased security. He said the threats have not only affected his peace of mind but have also unsettled his family and staff.

“I can’t pretend to be okay. I am deeply concerned. My children and my close team are worried. This is not how public service should feel,” he remarked.

He also warned those behind the threats that he will not be intimidated into silence. Kiplagat vowed to continue serving the people of Soy fearlessly.

As investigations continue, leaders from the Rift Valley are expected to issue a joint statement in solidarity with the embattled MP. Kiplagat is urging fellow politicians to speak out when faced with similar intimidation.
