A wanted gunman was shot dead in Kasarani, Nairobi, after a fierce confrontation with officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations that left three detectives injured.
The incident occurred during a police operation aimed at arresting the suspect, who had reportedly been linked to previous violent crimes.According to investigators, the operation turned deadly when the man resisted arrest and opened fire on the officers who had surrounded his residence.

The move complicated the operation and heightened fears for the safety of the family members caught in the standoff.
As the exchange of gunfire intensified, three DCI officers sustained injuries after being shot in the legs and abdomen.Despite the injuries, the officers continued with the operation.
One of the wounded detectives reportedly managed to return fire through a window, fatally shooting the suspect and bringing the confrontation to an end.
Police later recovered the gunman’s body at the scene, marking the end of a manhunt that authorities said was linked to several serious criminal activities.
Following the incident, the DCI director general visited the injured officers at Nairobi West Hospital, where they were receiving treatment.
He commended their bravery and commitment while carrying out their duties under extremely dangerous circumstances.Investigators revealed that the slain suspect had been sought in connection with an earlier shooting incident in Kisii.
During that separate operation, three of his alleged accomplices were killed, and a firearm was recovered.
