Drama unfolded along a highway after a Somali man appeared to disagree with traffic police who had stopped his vehicle.
A video circulating online shows the man telling the officers to sit at the back of his car after they appeared to want to use his vehicle to travel to a police station.
The man, who was wearing black sunglasses, a long blue shirt and jeans, was seated in the vehicle while his driver was also present. The traffic officers had reportedly taken the driver’s licence during the incident.
Three officers, two men and a woman, were seen around the white vehicle as the disagreement unfolded.
In the video, one of the officers is heard asking the man why he was running after being stopped. The officers appeared to question him over the circumstances that led to the vehicle being stopped.
The situation escalated into a disagreement after the officers wanted to use the man’s vehicle to go to the police station.
The man refused and insisted that if the officers wanted to travel in his vehicle, they should sit at the back instead of taking the front passenger seats.
“The car is mine, sit at the back!” the man is heard saying.
Two officers, a male and female, were seen standing on the left side of the vehicle, while another officer was positioned near the driver’s side.
The video has attracted attention online because of the unusual disagreement between the motorist and the traffic officers over who should occupy the front and rear seats of the vehicle.
The full circumstances surrounding the traffic stop and whether the man was eventually taken to a police station were not immediately clear from the video.
