This move will ensure all teachers enrolled in the Public Service Medical Fund, a scheme designed to streamline medical services for public servants.

Teachers Services commission has explained that the transition is part of government reforms aimed at harmonizing health insurance covers under one umbrella to ensure efficiency, reduce costs, and provide comprehensive medical benefits. The SHA will replace existing insurance providers by integrating contributions from all civil servants, including teachers, into a single medical scheme.

According to Teachers Service Commission the Public Service Medical Fund will provide a wider coverage addressing gaps that teachers have previously raised under the MINET cover, such as limited access to specialized treatment and delays in service delivery. Teachers will also enjoy access to accredited health facilities across the country without restrictions tied to private insurers.

The Commission urged teachers to cooperate with the transition process so as assuring them that no member will lose medical benefits during the shift. The Ministry of Health is expected to give further directios on how the migration will be implemented in the coming weeks.
