Eugene Wamalwa today while addressing a rally in Ukambani said that remarks allegedly made by Oscar Sudi about stealing votes for President William Ruto if numbers fall in 2027 are dangerous and should be condemned.

He was speaking at an opposition gathering attended by top leaders including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and other allies.

Wamalwa warned the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission against any attempt to interfere with the will of the people during the 2027 general election.

He insisted that Kenyans must be allowed to freely choose their leaders without manipulation or intimidation.

The DAP Kenya leader said the opposition will closely monitor electoral processes to ensure transparency and credibility.

He further called on security agencies to remain neutral and protect citizens during campaigns and voting.

The leaders present echoed calls for unity among opposition parties ahead of the next polls.

Kalonzo Musyoka urged supporters to remain peaceful while defending their votes.

Rigathi Gachagua emphasized the need for fair competition and respect for democratic institutions.

The remarks come amid heightened political activity across the country as parties position themselves for 2027.

The opposition leaders reiterated their commitment to safeguard democracy and urged the electoral body to remain independent in all stages of voter registration, tallying and announcement of results while cautioning against any actions that could trigger public distrust or post election tensions in the country.

They called for calm and unity among citizens as the nation approaches a highly competitive election period and emphasized that peace should be prioritized before, during and after elections to strengthen national cohesion and stability.

Leaders also appealed to youth to avoid violence and instead engage constructively in civic education and peaceful participation throughout the electoral cycle across the country ahead of the 2027 polls expected.
