Born in 1974 in Kilifi, Kingi began his education at Magarini Primary School before joining Alliance High School for secondary education.
He graduated from the University of Nairobi in 1998 with a law degree, after which, completed pupillage and went into private legal practice in Mombasa.
The start of Kingi’s public service career came when he was in Mombasa and temporarily worked for the Constitution of Kenya Reform Commission (CKRC) as the district coordinator for Kilifi District.When Kingi successfully ran for the ODM seat in Kilifi County’s Magarini Constituency in 2007, his political career officially began.
He defeated the Shirikisho Party of Kenya’s Harrison Kombe, who was considered the front-runner.
Hailing from the minority Giriama community, Kingi has leveraged his legal expertise, political loyalty, and negotiation skills to establish himself as a formidable figure in Kenyan politics.
