Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, was left shocked after a woman claimed in a TikTok comment that they share the same baby daddy.

Saumu, who has two daughters with different fathers, had taken part in a viral TikTok trend titled “Life is so private.” She used the video to hint at her past experiences, revealing she once turned down two marriage proposals after hiring a private investigator to look into her partners’ backgrounds.

It was during the comment section of that video that a woman identified as Rethma made a surprising revelation.

“Life is so private no one knows we share baby daddy with you,” she wrote.
A stunned Saumu responded, asking which of her exes the woman was referring to. Rethma went on to claim that the man in question was a senator and that she had a child with him before he rose to political fame.

She explained that they lived together when he worked at a bank in Nairobi, long before he ventured into politics. According to her, the relationship ended after he moved to Mombasa and allegedly abandoned her while she was pregnant.

“He got famous, left Nairobi for Mombasa while I was pregnant, and he forgot about me,” she stated, adding that he only sent her KSh 5,000 in nine years as child support.
Saumu acknowledged the revelation with disbelief, calling the man “toxic” and referring to him as merely a “donor.”

The incident sparked reactions from Kenyans online, with many encouraging the two women to meet and let their children connect as siblings.

“Siblings should know each other now because in future, blood might unknowingly marry blood,” one commenter warned.
The moment underscored how social media continues to reveal unexpected personal truths, even among public figures.
