Whereas his younger brother Gideon Moi has been the face of the powerful Moi family on the political scene, former Rongai MP Raymond Moi is equally a consummate politician.

Raymond was elected to Parliament on a KANU ticket in 2013 as Rongai MP. During the same election, Gideon was elected as Baringo senator. At the time, the Moi political dynasty was up and running.

But in 2022, the Ruto tsunami swept aside the children of Kenya’s second President Daniel Arap Moi as they both lost their seats in Parliament.

Just recently, Gideon Moi returned with a bang as he entered into a political pact with President William Ruto. Thus saw the former Senator withdraw from the Baringo senatorial by-election.

But as for the 65- year old Raymond who was defeated by Paul Chebor of UDA in 2022, he continues to play his cards close to his chest even as the clock ticks towards the 2027 general election.

Is Raymond set to make a political comeback in 2027 by trying his luck in the Rongai MP seat race?

With the Ruto- Gideon handshake having cleared the rough political terrain that denied him a third straight term in office in 2022, this time round, the former MP could thrash the incumbent to hand him a political lifeline after spending five years in the cold.
