Fresh details have emerged about the brutal killing of 27-year-old Susan Nabwire from Pipeline Estate in Nairobi, after her sister revealed that the main suspect, believed to be her estranged husband, has allegedly been calling the family from jail following the shocking incident.
Speaking during an interview on NTV’s The Last Word show, Letiga Achieno painfully narrated the emotional trauma the family continues to go through months after Susan’s death
According to Letiga, the suspect, identified as Cyprian Mukoye, has allegedly been contacting her through phone calls while in custody.
She claimed the calls mainly focus on asking about the whereabouts of their child who was left behind after the tragic incident.
The murder, which happened on August 23, 2025, in the Kware area of Pipeline Estate, shocked many Kenyans due to the disturbing details surrounding the case.
Preliminary reports indicated that the suspect allegedly attacked Susan inside their house after a disagreement escalated into violence. It is alleged that the argument started after Mukoye demanded an M-Pesa PIN from Susan, but she refused to provide it.
Family members claimed the suspect had also been accusing Susan of having extra-marital affairs, something that reportedly created tension between the couple before the deadly confrontation.
According to accounts shared by the family, the argument quickly turned violent inside the house.
The suspect allegedly slapped Susan before threatening her during the heated confrontation.
Susan’s mother, Philice Makokha, also spoke about the disturbing events leading to her daughter’s death.
“They started arguing. He then slapped Nabwire. She then demanded her phone back. He then threatened to kill her if she didn’t oblige and give him the PIN,” the grieving mother recalled during the interview.
She further alleged that the suspect removed his clothes and took pictures using his phone before demanding Susan do the same.
Reports indicate that after the confrontation intensified, the suspect allegedly went to the bathroom, picked up an axe, and attacked Susan repeatedly on the head until she collapsed and died inside the house.
