A couple in Nang’oma villege, Matayos Constituency in Busia county has shocked many after declaring themselves ‘biblical parents’ of Jesus Christ.
Judith Nafula and her husband John Wekulo both claim to have received divine visions in which a voice allegedly from Christ declared them ‘Mary Mother of Jesus’ and carpenter Joseph.
“I saw a light come down from above, then I heard a voice say, ‘I am Christ and I am looking for Mama Maria.’ I said I didn’t know her, but the voice answered back, saying, ‘I am the one,’” she told members of the press.
The voice allegedly revealed to her that the truth had been hidden from her but time has come for her to know the truth. “The voice said that this knowledge had been kept hidden from me but time has now come for me to reveal myself,” she said.
“I was shocked when I heard the voice. But later, the voice came to me and said that I am Joseph,” her husband John Wekulo said.
Judith claims that she spent two months sleeping on a nearby hill where she says the moon would come down and show her everything. “When morning would come, the voice commanded me to tell the people that, ‘Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” she added.
Judith has been a parishioner at a local catholic church but she has since been expelled from the church on claims of ‘performing miracles’ to fellow parishioners.
Her followers claim that Judith has divine power that has allegedly enabled her heal people and perform other miracles. “People have began believing in her at home and they are coming back to her. People have been healed and those who were unfertile are now giving birth,” said Evelyn Ouma who is one of Judith’s believers.
