Ruto’s obstinate flame resisted extinguishing as the cameras rolled and world leaders lighted their candles with ease and grace.
The fact that he was courteously pushed aside while the others were ushered forward, gleaming brightly, was even more embarrassing. Silent murmurs filled the air, and tongues in Kenya waggled with unbridled vigour.
With a keen political sense, Senator John Kinyua of Laikipia County was able to seize this unsettling moment. He claimed that the candle’s failure was a divine warning while speaking in Nyandarua County.
He asserted that Ruto’s leadership is already dwindling dangerously and will completely fade out by 2027.
The senator’s scathing remarks rocked the political scene and struck a chord with a populace already stung by unfulfilled promises and growing uncertainty.
Kinyua didn’t mince words. He blasted the Kenya Kwanza government for failing to protect Laikipia, letting thieves terrorise residents and animals destroy farms.
In line with Catholic Bishop Antony Muheria, he charged that the leadership is yelling about ambitious promises while actual action is still a mirage.
According to the senator, Ruto’s flame represents a dwindling trust, a power that is evaporating more quickly than anyone is willing to acknowledge.
