Mbarire

Senator Boni Khalwale, has reacted strongly to recent claims by Governor Cecily Mbarire.

Through a post on X, Khalwale expressed his thoughts on the changes happening, within the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Party.

He said that out of nowhere, Governor Cecily Mbarire was promoted to the position of National Chairperson of the UDA Party.

At the same time, Cleophas Malala, who was previously a member of the Amani National Congress (ANC) Party, was appointed as the Secretary General of UDA.

Khalwale suggested that these changes, were made to remove former UDA Chairman Senator Johnston Muthama and to punish him, Khalwale, as well.

He stated that both he and Muthama were founding members of UDA, and had worked hard to build the party.

Khalwale claimed that the party leadership was now in disarray, as many members did not expect these changes.

He also had a message for Governor Mbarire, telling her not to complain or cry, but to accept the situation and move on.

This came after Cecily Mbarire had alleged that a group of leaders from the Mt. Kenya region were holding secret meetings at night in Meru, planning how to remove her from her position as UDA National Chairperson.

These recent events have caused tension within UDA, with some leaders feeling left out of key decisions.

Khalwale’s remarks reflect a growing sense of dissatisfaction among party members, who feel that they are being sidelined despite their loyalty and past contributions.

It remains to be seen how UDA will handle these internal challenges.
