la Crowds

Senator Mungatana has criticized the media and questioned the authenticity of political popularity based on public rallies. He stated, “The media has lied to some candidates before that they are popular.

Professor George Wajackoyah after vying for 2022 presidential elections, came to tell Kenyans how to legalise bhang, and then he disappeared after elections.

We should now wait for him to re-appear in 2027 to start exciting crowds again.” According to the senator, the presence of huge crowds during political events should not be mistaken for genuine support.

He made these remarks in response to the large gatherings that welcomed President William Samoei Ruto during his recent tour of the Mt. Kenya region.

Mungatana claimed that Ruto is being misled by these crowds and warned that such displays do not guarantee votes.

He expressed concern that similar scenarios had played out in the past, where candidates received massive support during campaigns but ended up losing at the ballot.

Mungatana emphasized that the real test lies in the elections, not in public turnouts or media reports.

He warned that the people could turn against Ruto in 2027, and the excitement seen in crowds today should not be taken as assurance of victory.
