Accident nairobi

Recently, incidents of road accidents have been increasing across various regions in Kenya.

The most recent tragedy occurred at Wiitu Shopping Centre in Ikutha Sub County along the Kitui-Kibwezi Highway.

Reliable reports have emerged indicating that six schoolchildren were killed instantly after being struck by a fast-moving vehicle while crossing the road.

Among the victims were three sisters, who were recognised by neighbours that hurried to the scene to assist.

It has been reported that former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu visited the grieving mother who tragically lost her three daughters in this heartbreaking hit-and-run accident.

As per Ithitha Deputy County Commissioner Vincent Loctary Lomachary, all six students were pronounced dead at the scene, and reports indicate that the driver of the Probox fled but later turned himself in at Mutomo Police Station.

Authorities have documented the incident and transported the bodies of the six children to Kitui County Referral Hospital for post-mortem examinations.

There is a community hope that justice will be granted to the affected families of the deceased schoolchildren.

Our deepest condolences go out to the families mourning the loss of their beloved children in Kitui.
