President William Ruto has run out of explanations for his actions, forcing him to resort to threats in a bid to make them a success anyway, Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga has claimed.
He says that he has noticed Ruto now has no explanations for the proposals he is making, terming this why he has been making tough pronouncements lately to force people like MPs to embrace them.
But he has said that his own MPs will not be moved by Ruto’s threats and have already been directed to reject Finance Bill when it finally lands in parliament.
“We have noted that the regime has run out of sound bites and explanations for these proposals and has resorted to threats. But we have agreed with our MPs on what to do: vote against any tax rises,” the former Prime Minister said on Thursday.
Raila maintained that the bill is not good for Kenyans, as it will bring with it extra taxes, which he said most cannot handle at the moment.
He cautioned Ruto against bulldozing the bill in parliament, warning of demos and protests.
“Should Ruto overrun the National Assembly, we will regroup and overrun him in the wider National Assembly of the whole people of Kenya,” he said.
