According to available sources of news, his Excellency President William Ruto has commenced a four-day development tour of the Nyanza region, landing at Kisumu International Airport. The visit includes the celebration of Madaraka Day, which will be held in Homa Bay on Sunday. However, a notable absence at the welcoming event was that of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who has recently been working closely with the President.
Eliud Owalo who is the State House Deputy Chief of Staff, has shared photos of President’s arrival at Kisumu International Airport, marking the beginning of his extensive tour. Despite Odinga’s absence, a strong contingent of Nyanza leaders, including some closely associated with Odinga, were present to receive the head of state.
Among those who have welcomed President Ruto were Kisumu Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo and Cabinet Secretaries Mbadi and Opiyo.
