The absence of several line Ministers from the visit was a loud demonstration of Biden’s dissatisfaction with the rampant corruption in Kenya, which Washington wants to see curtailed.

H.E. Ruto is no longer able to ignore corruption in his government for the sake of his own reelection and Washington’s demand.
He needs to move quickly to stop grand theft of public funds and rid the nation of thieves. To H.E. Ruto’s ears, Washington yelled, “This nonsense must stop”! Washington has never been one to lay out the red carpet or give out freebies!
