The Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) in the Ministry of Sports, Culture, and Heritage Zack Kinuthia and controversial Kikuyu musician Muigai wa Njoroge have engaged in an ugly war of words on social media. It started when Muigai accused Kenya’s founding President Mzee Jomo Kenyatta of leading a meeting where the grabbing of land belonging the freedom fighters, the Mau Mau, was allegedly planned.

The popular musician made the claims while referring to a photo of Kenyatta and other Kiambu leaders meeting in 1956 at Kirigiti stadium.

Others pictured were Senior Chief Josiah Njonjo, Senior Chief Waruhiu, Senior Chief Koinange, James Gichuru, Harry Thuku and Eliud Mathu.

Kinuthia, a fierce defender of President Uhuru Kenyatta, responded swiftly telling the musician to keep off the subject since he was ignorant about it.

Muigai, also known as Kigutha, asked the youthful CAS why he was furious with his post when he (Kinuthia) was also a child of the Mau Mau.

In a quick rejoinder the Sports CAS said: “Those who still live know more about this than what is written. Before you engage me, be sure you are not idiotic.”
