Pastor Victor Kanyari has responded to Kenyans who have been comparing his church to a club because of the energetic scenes captured during worship services.
The founder of Salvation Healing Ministry addressed the comments during a church service on Sunday, September 20, 2026, after videos from his ministry continued circulating widely on social media.
According to Kanyari, some social media users have been questioning the atmosphere at his church, with others going as far as asking whether the congregants attending his services are normal.
The preacher said he had noticed that videos from the church were increasingly attracting attention online, leading to comments comparing the worship sessions to scenes normally associated with entertainment clubs.
Rather than responding angrily to the criticism, Kanyari chose to turn the comments into humour.
He said those criticising the church could consider both him and the congregation “mad” if that was how they viewed the energetic worship sessions.
Kanyari also explained that he had decided not to allow the comments to upset him. He argued that people sometimes identify issues they believe will hurt someone emotionally and repeatedly use them as a way of provoking that person.
The preacher said his approach was to deny his critics the reaction they might be seeking by showing them that the criticism does not affect him.
Salvation Healing Ministry, located in Njiru along Kangundo Road, has increasingly featured in social media videos showing lively singing, dancing and other energetic moments during services. The scenes have helped draw attention to Kanyari’s ministry beyond his regular congregation.
Kanyari’s latest remarks come as his public profile continues to grow, with his church activities regularly attracting discussion online.
The preacher has also recently ventured further into politics and is seeking to become the next Member of Parliament for Kasarani in the 2027 General Election.
