A holiday flight turned into a terrifying ordeal after a passenger was reportedly partially pulled out of a cabin window following an in-flight incident. The frightening event left passengers in shock and the injured man receiving treatment in hospital.
According to reports, LjubiĊĦa Karovi, 61, was travelling with his wife, Svetlana Grkovi, on a Ryanair flight on Friday, July 10, when a serious incident occurred while the aircraft was flying at around 20,000 feet.
It is alleged that part of an aircraft engine broke off and struck a cabin window near where Mr. Karovi was seated. The impact reportedly damaged the window, causing a sudden loss of cabin pressure.
The force is said to have partially pulled him out of the aircraft.
His wife reacted immediately. She said she grabbed her husband’s legs to stop him from being pulled further outside the plane. Speaking about the terrifying moments, she recalled believing they might both lose their lives.
“I reacted immediately and grabbed his legs. I thought, ‘If we die, we die together.’ It was horrible,” she reportedly said while describing the frightening experience.
Mrs. Grkovi explained that she refused to let go of her husband despite the danger. She said the terrifying situation unfolded within seconds, leaving little time to think before acting.
According to her, Mr. Karovi suffered several injuries during the incident. He reportedly sustained friction burns, a badly injured hand, and other burns. He also experienced severe shock from the traumatic event.
She said her husband remains in hospital receiving treatment and is currently unable to speak because of the injuries he suffered. She added that he lost consciousness several times during the incident and remembers very little about what happened.
