Siaya Governor James Orengo has mourned the death of Bishop Gilbert Deya who died in a tragic road accident involving multiple vehicles including one belonging to the Siaya County government.
The Siaya County boss expressed deep sorrow and regret over the passing of the bishop describing the accident as horrific. He extended his condolences to Deya’s family, friends and members of his ministry noting that the people of Siaya and the county government share in their grief.
The accident occurred along the Kisumu-Bondo highway. Bishop Deya who had recently returned to Kenya after years abroad was reportedly returning from a private event when the crash happened.
Orengo has further paid tribute to the late bishop and prayed for his soul to rest in eternal peace assuring the bereaved of the county’s solidarity during this difficult time.
