A vocal ODM politician has decided to fire at popular citizen tv Journalist, Yvonne Okwara, after a statement she made about President William Ruto on his conduct during the Gen Z protests on Thursday, June, 25th.
According to the journalist, the President failed to acknowledge anything that was going on in the country, and even treated the day as a normal politicking day, when the whole country was in chaos.
The Citizen TV Journalist argued that June 25th was not a day for President William Ruto to ignore the pleas of the young people, and even touting his development agenda.
“Yesterday for the President, it appeared to be just a normal working day; business and politics as usual. But was this really the day to address political detractors and tout your development agenda and achievements.” Said the popular Citizen TV Journalist, Yvonne Okwara.
While telling off the journalist, ODM politician, Robert Alai, has termed Yvonne Okwara’s argument as one purely motivated by ethnic hatred for H.E President William Ruto.
In his statement, Alai has argued that there was nothing the President could do and it’s rather ironic for the Journalist to expect the President to mourn with those who went to the streets to protest.
The statement by Alai comes barely a day after the Gen Z second anniversary protest that saw hundreds gather in the streets of Nairobi to remember the lives of those who were killed in the 2024 Finance Bill protest.
