Kenyans have raised concerns about the leadership of the Education Ministry following the release of the 2024 KCPE examination results by the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC). Some citizens have argued that the ministry requires stronger leadership to address the challenges facing the education sector.
On Sunday, Kenyans.co.ke conducted an online poll asking Kenyans to choose the Cabinet Secretary they believed had managed the Education Ministry most effectively. The options included Ezekiel Machogu, Fred Matiang’i, Amina Mohamed, and the late George Magoha.
Four hours after the poll was launched, Matiang’i was leading with 73 percent of the votes. Magoha followed with 23 percent, while Machogu and Amina Mohamed each received 2 percent.
Machogu’s performance at the ministry has attracted criticism since his appointment, with some Kenyans questioning his leadership approach and comparing his tenure with that of previous Education Cabinet Secretaries.
